LIANO

Liano

Acquaintances of Giuliano Armin Gardante would probably be astonished to learn that he is a nobleman of a rank equivalent to Viscount. Even had it not been a title in name only, he likely still would have insisted upon sharing it with his twin. His sentimentality like his nobility, is hidden well beneath a wealth of worldly cynicism and a hearty enthusiasm for vice.

Uneducated in any other university than the world, Liano possesses a keen understanding of human nature, an uncanny knack with animals and the trick of doing math in his head. Barely literate in English, Liano knows curses in more languages than his brother can read. Although a skilled fencer and master horseman, Liano's most amazing talent is his capacity for ale.

Often described by his aunt Lizettia as "the greatest unhanged knave in all of Christendom," Liano is actually more honest than he'd like to admit. His fierce

protectiveness towards his brother and those he cares for can at times stray towards a darkly vengeful nature. He tends to view their quest as "a brilliant example of pointless bureaucratic futility with pay."

Rikki Robinson, model for both twins in the story Salutations , was one of the inspirations for Liano. He tours the country's Renaissance Festivals as one of The Tortuga Twins and has cheekbones like no other!
